Website Development / Programming Underway...

After a brief silence, we want to announce that website development has started. We have a new web designer / programming on board that is spearheading the development. Development is expected to continue through the alpha release that is planned for January. There is so much work to do, but we are staying motivated.

In the next few days a teaser page will be released at www.artistliberty.com with a few details of what is coming.

We are looking for help in the following areas:

- Logo / Banner Design

If there is anyone out there who is fluent in any of these and is looking for something to occupy their spare time, let us know. We are looking for new project members to help us with the website implementation.

We would prefer you joined our group, but freelance help is good too.

We are looking for motivated individuals, and we do not pay, but we do not forget our friends when the going is good either.

Web Site News!

The site has been laid out and we are moving to the development stage. The first bit of news is that its going to cost us more than expected. But dont worry... what costs us more is only going to make the site better for all of you. (website teaser coming soon!)

We have a whole list of great features we have compiled by looking at all the other music sites that will be adding to the site and implementing over time. Do you have a good idea for our site? Is there something about a music site that you just loathe? We want to know, and we want to know right away!

New music, fun times...

Diversafest was a blast! We picked up a few new CD's and heard some great new music. Going to the festival reminded us how important our cause is. We handed out some serveys and learned a few things about the listener as well. We hope to be there next year, especially after the website is launched!

Diversafest '07

One of us will be in Tulsa, OK for the Diversafest Festival! July 27-28th. With over 150 bands it should be a rockin' good time. We'll be handing out brochures and business cards with some gooey details on what we are planning. Unfortunately, our website will not be up before the festival so well have to send people here in the mean time.

If your going to be at the festival, drop an email to ddpedersen@gmail.com and well arrange a meeting. We will be looking for new bands to test out the site as soon as its ready.

Our Goal: Define the future of the artist and their music

The goal of our music service is to offer music artists a chance to "get their name out there", build support (fan base), and to help them start selling their music to their fans. It is no mystery that the music industry is hard to crack, but we intend to change that!

Why should artists have to look to a major record label to get themselves heard, or submit to itunes to sell their music? The industry is slowly changing and we are going to be there to help bring about this change. You no longer need $50,000 to produce music, and you shouldn't have to have a big record label (read: Money Gobbling Monsters) to be heard!

We are committed to the artist, and intend to stay that way. Artists should be treated fairly, and that is our goal!

There is so much more we would like to say, but we'll save it for another day...
