Web Site News!

The site has been laid out and we are moving to the development stage. The first bit of news is that its going to cost us more than expected. But dont worry... what costs us more is only going to make the site better for all of you. (website teaser coming soon!)

We have a whole list of great features we have compiled by looking at all the other music sites that will be adding to the site and implementing over time. Do you have a good idea for our site? Is there something about a music site that you just loathe? We want to know, and we want to know right away!

We are here to help, so give us your feedback...

Artists listed with multiple genre tags to make searching more effective. e.g. indie rock; indie pop; twee pop; cuddle core.

right now, the idea is to make the artists adhere to general genres that they get to choose from.(to keep it simple for uninformed listeners) from there, the artists can list their specific genre in their profile, and that will be searchable as well.

I can see why you'd want to keep things easy. As long as consumers/subscribers/whomever can effectively search I'd be happy. Because you know there will be a lot of bands/artists that are going to say, "We're just a "rock" band, we hate to be labeled post-rock, alt-country, Christian, post-progressive-alt-Christian-disco folk" or whatever. If I'm in the mood to purchase some post-progressive-alt-Christian-disco-folk, and there's actually someone that fits that bill, I don't want to look through every "rock" band to find it. The digital service I use now is pretty good with genre labels. You dig?

I can dig it. We were also thinking that as the site grows we would add sub-genres to help refine your searching.
